Lisa Smith was born in New Jersey, and grew up in Connecticut. She
currently lives in New Mexico in the adobe house she built with her
husband.
Lisa
graduated with a BFA in Ceramics from the Rhode Island School of
Design, Providence, Rhode Island and has participated in numerous
shows, including: Originals 2005 sponsored by the New Mexico Committee
of the National Museum of Women in the Arts; The Museum of Fine Arts.
She
builds ceramics vessels using pinch and coil construction techniques.
Each is composed of several stacking parts. Each head lifts up to
reveal treasures within the vessel of the body. Some of these pieces
have a different image on their reverse side.
